“A” is for Advocacy: The ABCs of IEPs
Featuring Amanda Morin, Author of The Everything Parent’s Guide to Special Education
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans can be tricky to navigate. What services can they provide to your child and how can you best advocate for his needs? Amanda Morin provides practical tips on advocating for your child, supporting their special education needs, teaching self-advocacy, and building partnerships with educators and other service providers.
This session will be devoted to providing parents with an opportunity to have an open conversation about navigating the special education system.
- Understanding that advocacy doesn’t have to start with a “Scarlet A”
- The ABCs of IEPs: Understanding the language of special education
