Here are the four main services we specialize in:

Your First Step at the CLC: Educational Evaluations/Assessments

Early intervention is crucial to help a child do well in school and throughout the rest of their life; that is why CLC offers educational evaluations to determine if a child has a learning disability and is suitable for a particular learning style. We can change a student’s life and help them comprehend concepts that were outside their understanding once an evaluation is done.

All new students begin with a no cost consultation with our CLC director where their academic performance and background is reviewed. Once we find out a student’s strengths and weaknesses, we can offer an individualized teaching plan made specifically for them.

Each student and parent receives a testing report following the evaluation which highlights spots that need work and which of our methods will best help remedy them.

Our Peabody Reading Tutoring Program

Reading well can be among the hardest things for a young student to learn how to do. We help create stronger readers in the Peabody, MA area using a variety of accredited programs proven to boost reading skills. Each of these can treat dyslexia and other problems that make reading challenging. These include the following:

  • Orton-Gillingham

For kids who have difficulty matching sounds with associated letters and hesitate when reading a sentence, this program is an excellent solution. It is a phonetically based program that shows students the basic building blocks of the English language and builds from there.

  • The Wilson Reading System Program

This reading and writing program guides students who have a hard time with spelling through a 12-step process so they can eventually read standalone words. The steps go beyond the phonics of the Orton-Gillingham program and people retain what they gain from constant repetitiveness. Students read and review what they have been previously taught before advancing to the next step which makes this a successful program.

  • About The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing™ Program

Also called LiPS, this program helps students who are not able to process individual sounds in words by showing them how to speak words in order to write and read them. It teaches how the tongue, lips, and mouth form certain sounds which create letters and words.

  • Nancibell® Visualizing & Verbalizing® Program

eople develop mental images as they read and write because this program uses a visual approach to help them remember concepts. This approach to learning helps them succeed academically across many paths of study before reading and writing.
