Here are the top four services we specialize in:

Your First Step at CLC: Educational Assessments

Our team believes that early intervention is vital to help a child be successful in school and the rest of the life which is why CLC provides educational assessments that help reveal a learning difficulty or effective learning style. We can alter a student’s life and help them understand concepts that were beyond their understanding once an evaluation is done.

All new students and their parents start with a no cost consultation with our CLC director during which their academic performance and background is reviewed. Once we discover a student’s strengths and weaknesses, we can present an individualized teaching plan made specifically for them.

Each student and parent receives a testing report following the evaluation that highlights spots that need improvement and which of our methods will best help remedy them.

Reading Tutoring in Needham

Learning to read is often one of the toughest things for a young student to grasp. We create stronger readers in the Needham, MA area using several accredited programs shown to enhance reading skills. Each of these can help manage dyslexia and other conditions that make reading challenging. These include the following:

  • Orton-Gillingham

This is a fantastic choice for learners who have a difficult time matching sounds with associated letters and who often pause when trying to get through a sentence. It’s a phonetically based program that instructs students the basic building blocks of the English language and builds from there.

  • Wilson Reading System

This reading and writing program takes students who struggle with spelling through a 12-step process so over time they can read standalone words. The steps go beyond the phonics of the Orton-Gillingham program and people old on to what they gain from constant repetitiveness. The program ensures learners fully understand the current level before moving on to the subsequent one, which leads to reading and writing success.

  • Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing™ Program

Also called LiPS, this program assists students who can not process individual sounds in words by showing them how to speak words to then be able to write and read them. Mentors using this program demonstrate how the lips, mouth, and tongue can form certain letters and words .

  • About The Nancibell® Visualizing & Verbalizing® Program

Students develop mental images as they read and write because this program uses a visual approach to enable them to remember concepts. This strengthens their scholastic capacity across all courses of study, not just reading and writing.

  • Math Tutors in Needham, Massachusetts

From basic math through advanced principles including calculus, we help students be their best at this subject with the help of various of teaching approaches. We have several math programs for all levels that help students “see” the solution visually. All students create their own math solutions book of formulas that allow them to retain and remember mathematical concepts.
