Commonwealth Learning Center Provides Personalized Tutoring in Middleton, Massachusetts

Commonwealth Learning Center (CLC) provides benefits that make it unique from other tutoring centers. We work with each client one-on-one to provide them with personalized attention, in contrast to other tutoring centers that instruct learners in groups. At CLC we recognize that every student has their own obstacles and learning goals that makes them and their situation unique. From elementary school through adulthood, our students are given the assistance they really need in a patient, compassionate environment.

We work with students of all abilities, whether they need a little additional homework help or are challenged with a learning disability. Our programs and teaching methods are designed to address clients with learning disabilities that include dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, non-verbal learning disabilities, and executive function difficulties. Our instructors hold advanced degrees in special education, math, and reading and are certified to teach students with learning challenges.

Our 4 main areas of focus are the following:

Educational Evaluations/Assessments

Our team believes that early intervention is crucial to help a child be successful in school as well as the rest of their life which is why CLC provides educational assessments that help uncover a learning difficulty or effective learning style. Our assessments can aid in changing a student’s experience of life by making it fun and easy for them to learn where previously they struggled.

All new students and their parents start with a complimentary consultation with our CLC director during which their academic performance and background is reviewed. Learning about each student’s strengths and weaknesses helps us create a personalized approach just for them.

Each student and parent receives a testing report following the evaluation that highlights spots that need improvement and which of our methods will remedy them.

Our Middleton Reading Tutoring Program

Reading well can be one of the toughest things for a young student to learn how to do. We help foster improved literacy skills in Middleton MA with the help of our selection of accredited programs that are proven to improve reading. Each of these can help manage dyslexia and other problems that make reading challenging. Some of our reading programs include:

  • The Orton-Gillingham Program

For people who have difficulty matching sounds with associated letters and hesitate when reading a sentence, this program is an excellent solution. This program depends on phonic structure to show students the fundamentals of the English language and moves forward from there.

  • The Wilson Reading System Program

This reading and writing program guides students who struggle with spelling through a 12-step process so they can eventually read standalone words. The steps is a bit more advanced than those from Orton-Gillingham and help students remember principles through repeating concepts. Students read and review only what they have been taught previously before progressing to the next step which makes this a very successful program.

  • The LiPS Program

Also called LiPS, this program helps students who can not process individual sounds in words by showing them how to speak words in order to write and read them. It demonstrates to students how proper use of the lips, tongue, and mouth create the basics of letters and words.

  • Nancibell® Visualizing & Verbalizing®

This program was developed to create mental pictures in students’ minds as reinforcement as they read and hear words. This form of learning helps them succeed academically across many courses of study in addition to reading and writing.

  • We Offer Math Tutoring Near Middleton

We help students reach their potential in math employing a variety of teaching techniques in all mathematics levels from basic adding and subtracting to advanced pre-college math. Our unique math programs help students of all levels “see” formulas and solutions to solve problems. We have all students create their own math solutions book of formulas that allow them to absorb and remember mathematical concepts.

For younger learners, our TouchMath program uses a multisensory method that shows kids to count and touch TouchPoints to add, subtract, and multiply numbers.

Test Preparation in the Middleton Area

Students preparing to take the MCAS, SAT, PSAT, SSAT, or other exams will be fully prepared for them as a result of our one-on-one teaching approach. Our instructors stay abreast of the types of questions in these exams so they can explain to students how to be fully eady and confident for them.

In addition, we assist adult clients with preparing for the GED exam so they can officially graduate from high school, providing them with greater job opportunities.

There are Plenty of Reasons in Middleton Massachusetts to Choose CLC Tutoring

In addition to our one-on-one approach, clients will find plenty of parking at our locations. Our centers are modern and well-equipped with computers. All students have access to private workspace so they will not be interrupted.

A safe teaching environment is one of our priorities which is why all CLC instructors must undergo a strict background check. Our instructors have vast knowledge of and experience in helping students through multisensory programs.

We can help you determine if your child qualifies for financial aid with the CLC. If a student has a sibling, they qualify for a 10% tuition discount. We do not lock our students into contracts; they keep visiting CLC for as long as they need our help.
