The Commonwealth Learning Center (CLC) is a non-profit educational center established in 1988 by the Stratford Foundation. We provide one-to-one teaching, assisting students from Merrimack and beyond, using a customized plan to meet the needs of each student.
Our teachers have special expertise in working with students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, non-verbal learning disabilities, and executive function difficulties. Our team also offers educational assessments.

ADD and ADHD are terms that are often used interchangeably, but do they refer to the same condition? The answer is yes and no. ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) were once separate diagnoses. ADD in children was associated with symptoms like daydreaming, withdrawal, and difficulty focusing without hyperactivity. On the other hand, ADHD involved hyperactive behaviors such as excessive talking and constant movement. Today, ADD is considered an outdated term, and ADHD is used to refer to any behavior indicating an inability to focus, whether or not hyperactivity is present. Essentially, ADD is now included under the umbrella of ADHD. Some medical professionals still use ADD to describe specific symptoms to avoid confusion.Diagnosing ADD and ADHD in Merrimack, NH
