Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can affect individuals of all ages, and today the evaluation of ADHD and executive functioning and is more sophisticated than ever before. This workshop will explain the diagnostic criteria and testing for the three different types of ADHD: inattentive, hyperactive, and combination-type. Additionally, we will explore the variety of assessments and behavior rating scales that are being used, as well as offer an introduction to pharmacological treatment— both stimulant medications and non-stimulant treatment—and strategies to cope with attention impairment.
Topics covered will include:
- Tests used to assess ADHD and executive functioning
- Behavior rating scales used to assess ADHD and executive functioning, including who completes them, and how they should be interpreted
- Pharmacological treatment options and coping strategies for attention challenges
