Help Us Support School on Wheels
School on Wheels of Massachusetts was founded in 2004 by Cheryl Opper, teacher and child advocate, to support students impacted by homelessness. In addition to offering academic support through 1-on-1 tutoring, they provide students with the materials they need for success in the classroom—each child School on Wheels serves is given a new backpack filled with customized school supplies and grade-level books that help to foster a love of reading.
This February, we’ll be collecting new backpacks and school supplies for K-12 students to support the efforts of this wonderful organization. If you would like to help, we’ll have a donation box in the lobby of our Needham Learning Center through Friday, February 28. A wish list of supplies can be found on the School on Wheels website. They also welcome personal notes of encouragement and travel-sized hygiene products, such as lip balm and clip-on hand sanitizer. The notes of encouragement do go into the backpacks.
Thank you for helping us spread some love!
