From kindergarten through adulthood, our students are given the assistance they need in a patient, compassionate environment.

We’re the ideal solution for learners who need a little extra help overcoming hurdles to those with special needs. We work with clients who have ADHD, dyslexia, executive function difficulties, language-based learning disabilities, and non-verbal learning disabilities. Our tutors are highly experienced, with advanced degrees in special education, math, and reading.

Our four main areas of focus are as follows:

We Provide Educational Evaluations/Assessments

Our specialists believe in early intervention to help catch any learning difficulties and direct a student on the path to academic and life success. These evaluations can help transform a student’s life by allowing them to grasp concepts that had previously eluded them.

All new clients are given a free consultation with the CLC director that includes going over past academic history and performance. This helps us discover a student’s strengths and weaknesses so we can craft a personalized teaching plan just for them.

After the evaluation, the child and their parent will be provided with a testing report that pinpoints areas of difficulty and which programs and methods we recommend to remedy it.

Our Westwood Reading Tutoring Program

Learning how to read can be one of the toughest things for a young student to grasp. We work with students in the Westwood Massachusetts area become stronger readers thanks to our many accredited programs that have been proven to help master reading skills. All of them can treat conditions that inhibit reading, such as dyslexia. Some of our reading programs include:

  • Orton-Gillingham

For kids who are challenged in matching sounds with associated letters and pause when reading a sentence, this program is an excellent solution. This program relies on phonic structure to show students the basics of the English language and advances from there.

  • About The Wilson Reading System

Wilson is a 12-step reading and writing method that works for people who have difficulty spelling words and find it tough to read words by themselves, without surrounding context. The steps go beyond the phonics of the Orton-Gillingham program and students retain what they learn from constant repetition. The program is successful because students study the current reading and writing concepts taught to make sure they can absorb them before the educator advances them to the next level.

  • About The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing™ Program

Also called LiPS, this program assists students who are not able to process individual sounds in words by showing them how to speak words in order to write and read them. It teaches how the lips, tongue, and mouth form certain sounds which create letters and words.

  • Nancibell® Visualizing & Verbalizing®

This program helps students develop mental imagery as they hear and read words. tudents in this program are able to succeed across many courses of study on top of reading and writing.
