T

he Commonwealth Learning Center is an independent nonprofit organization and has served as a leading educational resource for more than 30 years. We offer 1:1 customized academic support in most subject areas to students of all ages.

Our tutorial and educational evaluation services help individuals understand their learning style, increase their skills, and reach their full potential. We specialize in working with those who have learning differences including dyslexiadysgraphiaADHD, and executive function challenges.

Our Instructional Philosophy

Learning is a process unique to each individual; therefore, we design instruction to meet the needs of each student. To maximize individual attention, all of our teaching is 1:1, and our highly skilled tutors use a diagnostic and prescriptive approach to guide instruction. As such, we continually assess learning gaps and appropriately modify instruction to address specific concerns. Because not all students succeed academically from traditional curricula and teaching methodologies, our instruction is multisensory, direct, explicit, sequential, and cumulative. We offer research-based, data-driven approaches and programs to remediate weaknesses and capitalize upon strengths.

Testimonials

Commonwealth Learning Center has changed my daughter’s life. Her classroom teacher has told me that she went from not participating at all during reading to volunteering to read sentences out loud to the class. It brings tears to my eyes to even think about. Her confidence at school has soared! I cannot thank her wonderful tutor and all the staff at Commonwealth Learning Center enough for what they do. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

“My son never complains about going to tutoring, even during summer break. His tutor really “gets” him, which helps him get what he needs out of his sessions. CLC has also helped me better understand my son and how to help him. Highly recommended!”

“I am so grateful to have found this wonderful organization. Not only do they support the child, they support the entire family, providing information that has helped us navigate our child’s learning differences. Our son’s grades have improved, but it’s not only about grades. His self-esteem has improved since he now realizes he CAN do it!  He just needed the right support.”

—Ruth K.

“Commonwealth Learning Center has been and continues to be a miracle for us. My 8-year-old daughter diagnosed with dyslexia has been receiving OG tutoring for almost a year now with great gains. The staff has been so helpful and supportive in every way possible. I cannot say enough about the help we have received. Thank you all kindly from the bottom of our hearts!”

—Stacey A.

“Commonwealth Learning Center is a gem. We have used their tutoring services for both our kids for close to 10 years now. All of the tutors we’ve had over the years have been exceptional, and gave our kids the customized 1:1 support they needed to succeed academically in a fun, supportive, positive manner. Also, their program offerings for parents—workshops, speakers, etc.—are outstanding.”
