OUR STAFF
Our Teachers
We carefully select our teachers for their professional expertise and commitment to excellence. They represent various disciplines, including Reading, Mathematics, English, Special Education, and Speech and Language. Many of our teachers hold advanced degrees and specialized teaching credentials. Most are trained in multisensory teaching approaches, which are important for the success of students with specific learning problems.
All teaching candidates are required to show clear evidence of interest in continuing education. They attend conferences and seminars frequently to maintain and improve their professional skills.
Our teachers also work to provide high achievers with additional challenge and experience.
Our Support Services
Support services for parents and teachers are an important element of our holistic approach to helping each student. Parents of children with academic problems sometimes feel uncertain or even overwhelmed. It is important for them to have a source of support and reliable information. CLC offers parents expert support and information in two ways - through private consultation, and through workshops. Workshops are provided at our Needham location and at various off-site locations for community groups.
During parent consultations, we provide information and referrals for special needs services. We can also recommend comprehensive educational testing. These services can be particularly helpful to parents of students in a private school setting because these students have often not received testing or special education services through the public schools.
We also provide school consultations at the request of a parent, including IEP or team meetings to discuss the most appropriate services for the child.
